The force of water jet on a flat surface
Kasal, Milan ; Soukup, Lubomír (referee) ; Fic, Miloslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis discusses about the theory of fluid mechanics. In the first part of work are listed the basic hydrodynamic laws for ideal and real fluid. Further there was derived force acting on the surface. The second part is devoted to the practical use of force water jet to generate electricity and cutting of material. The objective of the last section, was practical verification of derived relations during laboratory measurements.
The design of Pelton turbine for given parameters
Pavlíček, Tomáš ; Veselý, Jindřich (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to create a project of a small Pelton’s turbine for laboratory use, focusing on the design of nozzle and blade. Designing these two parts included beam measuring, calculating the losses in the piping and finding the working point of the pump. In its first part this thesis reviews the history, the operating principle and the main parts of the Pelton’s turbine. The next part includes finding the appropriate shape of nozzle and measuring the beam, followed by the calculation of lossy coefficient and efficiency of the nozzle from the measured values. The third part is dedicated to calculation of losses in the piping and finding the working point of the pump. In the last part, blade is designed.
The turbine regulation of the small hydro-powerplants
Horký, Jiljí ; Dobrovolný, Martin (referee) ; Stareček, Jakub (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the regulation of water turbines in small-hydro power plants. The first chapter presents the basic theory of this issue. In the next following two chapters, the characteristics of individual types of turbines, their construction and construction of control mechanisms are introduced. With the help of velocity triangles is shown, how the flow conditions are changing during the work of control mechanisms and what influence the control has on the hydraulic machine.
Torque momentum of the jet deflector
Kaprinay, Zoltán ; Veselý, Jindřich (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
The aim of this master’s thesis is to determine the torque momentum of the jet deflector of the Pelton turbine using a two-phased CFD simulation. The reason for determining the moments is the inaccurate formula according to a standard, whose results are assumed to be too excessive. The first part is devoted to theory of Pelton turbine and its main components. The second part contains the design of deflector, explanation of the used k- turbulence method and the Volume of Fluid two-phased flow modeling method. The results of the simulation are presented at the end of the thesis.
Water turbines and them use
Machát, Pavel ; Sloupenský, Zdeněk (referee) ; Himr, Daniel (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the problems of water turbines. It contains basic division of water turbines, description of their oparations and possibilities of their utilizations. Further this thesis focuses on description of the three most used turbines i.e. Francis´s, Kaplan´s and Pelton´s turbines. As one component of this work there are also mentioned essential relations required for selection of proper type of turbine in dependency on speed, slope and flow rate.
Optimizing of Simplyfeid Circular Distributional Pipe of the Vertical Pelton Turbine with 5 Nozzles.
Halabrin, Robin ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with hydraulic optimization of distribution pipeline for 5 nozzle Pelton’s turbine by using CFD. The thesis is a follow-up to a previous diploma thesis which deals with the possibilities to simplify existing distribution pipeline. A few simplified versions of distribution pipelines were solved and the results show which way we should proceed towards the right solution. The simplified distribution pipeline arises from given parameters and retains the same procedure of evaluation to give us the opportunity of comparing achieved results. Two new geometries of distribution pipeline were created. They were then modified to achieve optimal distribution of discharge in each nozzle. Other criteria used for comparison were static pressure and Coriolis’ number in specific slices inside pipeline. Last but not least a simple economical analysis for selected version of distribution pipeline was carried out on the basis of which we can see the manufacturing costs of the pipeline.
Study of turbine with side channel runner
Jandourek, Pavel ; Haluza, Miloslav (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
This thesis deals with types of water turbines.
Distribution Pipe of Pelton Turbine
Halabrin, Robin ; Svozil, Jan (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachlor’s thesis describes problems of concept distribution pipe of Pelton turbine and it shows other ways it’s possibly simplify this pipeline. There is compared the version made of welding plate with the other version made of welding pipes. The aim is the cost analyse and hydaulic optimalization.
Design of a small hydroelectric power plant on the Askistskali River in Georgia
Mitrega, Stanislav ; Jobánek, Stanislav (referee) ; Šulc, Jan (advisor)
The main objective of the thesis is to develop a project for a small hydroelectric power plant on the Askistskali River in Georgia. The thesis includes a geodetic survey using drone photogrammetry and a visit of the site of interest. The thesis presents the documents supplied by Stream Ltd. and describes the procedure of geodetic surveying using a drone. In the next part, the new design of all the structures is described and the results of the economic analysis are presented. It is followed by the calculations part, which describe the design procedure for each structure. At the very end of the thesis, a photographic documentation of the area of interest is attached. Based on the economic analysis, the project was assessed as a profitable investment opportunity.
